DOGBITE

DOGBITE, plays their first show ever at Plan B opening for Ghost Alien in a benefit raising money to start the new Powell Skatepark project. As usual, skaters must step in and take control with keeping things moving in the skateboard world. Nothing new there, surprised?. Skaters need to raise about $40,000 to get the project started and then the city will jump in and finish it (so the story goes). So Justin Hindery (Ghost Alien / Shrunken Head Skateshop) set up the first of what might be many benefits to raise the money for PDX Concrete. The inaugural benifit went off without a hitch and there was a good turn out of good friends and family to support the cause and watch a couple local bands backed by skate videos.
Now Ghost Alien has been rocking the skate world for a little bit of time now comprised of three ripping skaters (Xeno Miller, Jake Lyons, and Justin Hindery) who can kick out the jams and really fuel the fire,
But who the hell is DOGBITE?!? Most folks showed up without any idea of who these guys are or even what type of music they were about. Hell, who was even in the band?! No ideas and not sure if anyone truly cared. What mattered was supporting PDX Crete! Well, DOGBITE took the stage first as the opening band with 5 friends of the skate world taking stage to play their first show and three of its members "Breaking their Rock Star cherries" for the very first time! Big Ed (lead Ax), Cody Boat (rhythm Ax, 1st show ever), Zach Connolly (Hippy Killer Drums), Matt Spinny (vocal assault, 1st show ever), and Pod (Bass grooves, 1st show ever).
DOGBITE played and folks got hyped as the beer flowed from the bar resulting in a surprisingly good set, especially for the first one! The consensuses form the crowed of friends resulted in good vibes with a skate punk attitude. A few even commented that we sounded like a legitimate punk band of yesteryear! Well, i'm not sure what a "legitimate punk band" is but I think everyone liked the noise we brought to the table and of course, we had a fucking Blast playing for the cause! Chelsea even captured DOGBITE on video HERE in case you missed us.
Elias Parise even snapped some amazing shots of the show (making DOGBITE look like they knew what they were doing). Many Thanx man!!!!!
Special Thanx to everyone who came out to support PDX Concrete, Ghost Alien, Plan B for the venue and great sound, Shrunken Head Skateshop, and xtra special thanx to SKATEBOARDING!!!!!!

Portland, Thursday June 14th @ Murdoch Collections

Dear PDX-ers,

I actually have a few pieces of art in this amazing show. Sadly, I have no dough to go, but you should go check it out. The boards for sale look amazing and you've probably heard of almost every artist in this show through skateboarding alone. Should be super sick and hopefully someone will shoot photos...

SAUCE skateboard zine BACK IN PRINT!!

SAUCE skateboard zine is back in print where it belongs! As most of you know, we are broke but that's not gonna hold us back from our duties to bring you our views of today's skateboarding and it's "Fuck Yeah" lifestyle. We've defaulted back to our roots in the gutter where we began, Black and white xerox printing (the way a zine should be) and about half the length in content to cut our costs drastically to be able to bring back the rag but it still costs SOME MONEY to fuel the ol' copy machine, so I invite you to support us with a purchase of some SAUCE gear up in the SAUCE STORE. This will ensure that we may continue doing what we love, and that's document, share and stoke all that are out there shredding the curbs, ditches, pools, ramps, parks, and streets! And of course cover the folks that are creating the music that we all skate by. As usual, SAUCE is FREE where you can find it, $2.00 by mail.
Get your hands on a copy, get stoked, and go shred!!
See you out there,
