New Portland indoor spot!! Concrete?! YES!!!!!

Willis Kimble

Willis Rips! Hands down!! Even when he's just messing around, he's ripping, as seen here with a simple tail skidder at Burnside. Weather he's doing kickflip backside airs in a backyard bowl or a slappie grind at the local curb, he's still having more fun than you. Maybe its the good taste in music? Whatever it is, its always FUN!!!

JUICE

The JUICE crew down in Venice, CA have come out with a new issue full of all kinds of neat stuff, including an interview with Shaggy. They were also nice enough to give Shaggy the cover that Him and I shot a little while ago. Stoked on my first legit cover shot. This is Shaggy 2nd cover in the past year!! (JUICE, SAUCE) Congrats Shag on some ripping skating and building!!!

Found these while cataloging all of my old photos. They were taken just before moving back to Portland from Springfield, Illinois. Ripshredders reside everywhere!

NoPo Mini Ramp Tour

As notorious as the great northwest is at building outdoor concrete pits, portland is notorious for gnarly ass, crammed-in-as-tight-as-we-can-get-em mini ramps. I took a mini tour yesterday of a few of what North Portland has to offer.

Looking more like an airwalk than a judo, Chris Nukula throws one up under the Freemont Bridge

Jason Gregory lost his AZ permatan but keeps a proper lien at Swami's

Getting sweet on Swami's French Tickler coping, Nukes lays out a sugarcane

When you grow up roaming the same streets as G.G. Allin, I guess you're going to be inspired to build a four four foot ramp with a four foot tranny. Tartsa rolls in on his latest creation.

East Bound!!!

Bad Brad in Providence, R.I.

spotting in LR

little rock is saving me from scene suck hell here in oxford. three hours away and there's so much to see and do skatewise there. not to mention, feeling at home with the locals. words can't describe the feeling i get just thinking about last sunday. everything is beautiful in little rock, except maybe the giant turds i looked down at as i squatted down by the river to release my bladder. (the bathrooms are not open "only on the weekend").

nobody knew hillbombing was tino's "thing". tino loves battery so much, he'll probably marry it.

sleazy steve and his bros took us to this spot. the state capital makes the law "you better rip or get ripped"

wrex digs deep for a huge ollie over this gap... this photo doesn't do it justice though... only 3 of the crew landed this. next time i'll have to chronicle this "run"... down across the street, over that curb, down the stairs, etc etc.

arkansas

two weekends ago, we went to arkansas, visited kanis for several hours, wrex got inverts on the punk wall

this is the view from inside the bowl of the kanis diy spot

50kent lured us to his mountain ramp, and showed us the spot where deer skulls lie as worms feed upon them

all in all was a great trip, ran into colt 4.5 who was smooth ripping the north little rock park (which by the way deserves some proper lighting), met some new friends and basically had a rad time. let's meet up there sometime, sauce brethren!! until then, rip ride slash attack!

Holiday Nostalgia!

I remember as a kid going through the years past Thrasher magazines and dreaming of what might be under the Christmas Tree. But this year with the continued economic repression I went down to the local park and gave away all my used gear to the kids that live off Apache Blvd. (Local crack and prostitute street) The kids wiped all my cynicism away as they were super stoked and started skating the fun box with the new gear. One kid even learned 50-50s. One thing that has not changed in skateboarding is the fact that we take care of our own! And if left to our own devices long enough we build our own. And thats what Im thankful for this year. Thank you everyone that got involved in the creativity of Local DIY spots, Local shops, Local Zines and Local companies. Merry Christmas and Happy New year! Special Thanks To; SkateArchives.com and Thrasher Magazine for the Images.
